At General Sheet Metal, we’ve always believed that being part of this community means giving back to it. Throughout the Flathead Valley, local nonprofits work every day to improve the lives of our neighbors, often with limited resources and little recognition.
That’s why we’re inviting our community to help shine a spotlight on three incredible local organizations and the meaningful initiatives they’re working to accomplish.
Throughout the month of September, you can vote for the organization whose mission inspires you the most. At the end of the campaign, General Sheet Metal will donate:
- 1st Place: $500
- 2nd Place: $300
- 3rd Place: $100
While every organization will receive a donation, your vote helps determine who receives the largest contribution. More importantly, every vote helps raise awareness for the incredible work these nonprofits are doing right here in our community.
How Voting Works
Supporting your favorite local nonprofit is easy!
- Voting is open September 1 – September 30.
- You can vote once every 24 hours.
- Simply choose the organization you’d like to support and submit your vote.
- Be sure to come back each day to vote again and help your favorite nonprofit climb the leaderboard.
Every vote helps bring greater awareness to these important community initiatives while giving these organizations additional resources to continue making a difference.
Meet the Organizations
Flathead Industries
Adaptive Recreation Equipment – Tandem Kayak
Flathead Industries is working to make Montana’s incredible outdoor spaces more accessible for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Their goal is to purchase an adaptive tandem kayak that will allow participants in their Continuing Education Center to safely experience kayaking alongside trained staff or volunteers. This equipment will provide opportunities to build confidence, develop new skills, promote physical and mental wellness, and create meaningful outdoor experiences that many participants have never had the opportunity to enjoy.
Livable Flathead
Helping Create More Affordable Housing
Livable Flathead is a nonpartisan nonprofit dedicated to creating housing solutions that support working families throughout the Flathead Valley. Their featured initiative is the development and printing of practical homeowner guides that explain how property owners can build smaller, more affordable homes—such as duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes, and townhomes—on land they already own. By making this information more accessible, they’re helping create more housing options for the teachers, tradespeople, childcare workers, and other essential members of our community.
Land to Hand
Kids & Family Pantry
Land to Hand is committed to ensuring every family has access to healthy, nutritious food. Their Kids & Family Pantry provides families participating in their weekend backpack program with the opportunity to select fresh produce, healthy snacks, and family meals in a welcoming, choice-based environment. This initiative helps reduce food insecurity while giving families access to nutritious foods that support children’s health and well-being throughout the weekend.
