Community Involvement

Serving the Flathead Valley and Surrounding Communities Since 1942 with HVAC and Sheet Metal Fabrication.

As a family-owned business rooted in Montana, we’re deeply invested in this community because it’s our home. At General Sheet Metal, we believe that being a local business means more than just providing expert HVAC and custom fabrication—it means showing up for the neighbors, teachers, and families who make the Flathead Valley such a special place to live.

Our 2026 Spring/Summer Community Giveaway

To kick off summer in the Flathead Valley, we need your help! Please vote on how you’d like us to contribute to our community by casting your vote for one of these projects. Planning out these community projects put a smile on everyone’s face here at General Sheet Metal. All of our team members live in these neighborhoods, and there’s no better feeling than helping out your own neighborhood! All we need are some votes! We’ll then tally the results and fund the project of your choice:

A New Bench at the Park

Whether it’s a spot to lace up your skates, watch the kids play, or just enjoy a breath of fresh air, every great park needs a comfortable place to sit. We’ll provide a high-quality bench to help our local parks stay welcoming for everyone.

Umbrellas at the City Pool

Everyone could use a little shade now and then! We want to provide large, sturdy umbrellas for the city pool deck to create some much-needed shade for families and swimmers looking to cool off between laps.

A Sponsorship for an After-School Program

We’re looking to provide a financial sponsorship to a local after-school program, helping them secure the supplies, snacks, or equipment they need to keep kids engaged and inspired.
VOTING BEGINS: April 15, 2026

Putting Our Heart Into the Flathead

Here are a few ways General Sheet Metal has been staying involved lately:

1. Flathead Industries & The Murder Mystery Gala

We are proud ongoing supporters and partners of Flathead Industries. We recently purchased a table at their annual Murder Mystery Gala at Snowline Acres to support their mission of creating opportunities for people with disabilities. It was a record-breaking night of suspense and philanthropy, raising over $140,000, and our team had a blast playing detective for a great cause!

2. Picnic in the Park

We love supporting the Kalispell Parks and Recreation Picnic in the Park Summer Concert Series. It’s the perfect way for our team and our neighbors to come together for great music and even better company under the big sky.

3. Supporting Our High Schools

Supporting the trades is close to our hearts. To help the next generation of Montana craftsmen and women find their footing, we have donated metal shop equipment to Flathead High School and Eureka High School. We’re proud to help students get hands-on experience with the tools of the trade.

4. Supporting Our Teachers

Teachers are the backbone of our community, and Swan River School teacher Kristi Dorcheus is a perfect example of why. Last fall, we asked you to nominate local educators who go above and beyond, and we were moved by Kristi’s selfless heart and dedication to her students. We were honored to provide her with a free furnace and professional installation—it’s our way of making sure the people who take care of our kids are taken care of, too!

5. Sparking Curiosity at the Wildtorium

We are thrilled to support the Wildtorium, the new children’s museum opening right here in Kalispell! We fabricated and donated a custom air exhibit for the museum to help local kids explore, play, and learn about the world around them. Thanks for helping us invest in the Flathead! While you’re here, check out how we can help keep your home comfortable this summer.
